Innovate builds a community of educators, administrators and thought leaders from The Ohio State University and beyond to share, explore and discuss technology-fueled approaches that advance teaching and learning.
Ohio State’s Office of Distance Education and eLearning invites you to the Ohio Union for Innovate, an annual conference bringing together educators, administrators, and tech industry professionals to explore recent advancements, best practices, and provocative approaches to teaching and learning with technology.
With Impact as our theme for 2017, we’re sharing innovations that let educators re-imagine their instruction without sacrificing pedagogical quality and rigor. It’s fun to experiment and enjoy the novelty of cutting edge technologies, but we’re always looking at the way that technology has a positive impact on our students, instructor best practices, the educational community and beyond.
Innovate is a time for bringing people together across disciplines and across adoption barriers. The conference is built with the educator in mind: you don’t have to be tech savvy to fully participate in this day of presentations, demonstrations and valuable dialog.
Conference Date: May 16, 2017

The Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching is one of the nation’s most renowned conferences presenting the scholarship of teaching and learning. For thirty-five years, teacher-scholars from across the U.S. and internationally have gathered annually the weekend before Thanksgiving to share innovative pedagogies and discuss questions, challenges, and insights about teaching and learning.
The Conference has become a teaching retreat as well as a conference. Deans and chief academic officers often support the attendance of faculty teams at Lilly as recognition for outstanding faculty and for faculty development, and institutions planning Teaching and Learning Centers have found the Conference an effective way to meet and “scout” exceptional teacher-scholars. Miami University, with its timeless Georgian architecture and beautiful wooded areas, makes an attractive location for learning.
Conference Date: November 16-19, 2017
Where: Miami University

The New Explorations in Teaching (NEXT) Conference is an annual gathering at The University of Akron to share new ideas and explore topics that affect teaching in higher education.
For NEXT 2017, our conference theme is “Exploring What it Means to Open the Boundaries of Education and Research”. We invite you to consider the barriers and boundaries that affect pedagogy, research, and students’ access to learning.
To address concerns over financial barriers to education, faculty and institutions are looking more closely at Open Educational Resources, which may lower the cost of education for both providers and students. Additionally, universities are considering how universal design might provide greater accessibility for all learners rather than providing accommodations for the few. Furthermore, as learners and learning spaces are no longer bound to brick and mortar campuses, educators are revisiting and remixing their pedagogical techniques/methodologies to address the wide variety of teaching situations we now face.
A lite breakfast and full lunch is included with all tickets.
