Innovate Conference Logo

Innovate builds a community of educators, administrators and thought leaders from The Ohio State University and beyond to share, explore and discuss technology-fueled approaches that advance teaching and learning.

Ohio State’s Office of Distance Education and eLearning invites you to the Ohio Union for Innovate, an annual conference bringing together educators, administrators, and tech industry professionals to explore recent advancements, best practices, and provocative approaches to teaching and learning with technology.

With Impact as our theme for 2017, we’re sharing innovations that let educators re-imagine their instruction without sacrificing pedagogical quality and rigor. It’s fun to experiment and enjoy the novelty of cutting edge technologies, but we’re always looking at the way that technology has a positive impact on our students, instructor best practices, the educational community and beyond.

Innovate is a time for bringing people together across disciplines and across adoption barriers. The conference is built with the educator in mind: you don’t have to be tech savvy to fully participate in this day of presentations, demonstrations and valuable dialog.

Conference Date: May 11, 2018
Where: The Ohio State University (Ohio Union)
Cost: Free

Lilly Conference Logo

The Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching is one of the nation’s most renowned conferences presenting the scholarship of teaching and learning. For thirty-five years, teacher-scholars from across the U.S. and internationally have gathered annually the weekend before Thanksgiving to share innovative pedagogies and discuss questions, challenges, and insights about teaching and learning.

The Conference has become a teaching retreat as well as a conference. Deans and chief academic officers often support the attendance of faculty teams at Lilly as recognition for outstanding faculty and for faculty development, and institutions planning Teaching and Learning Centers have found the Conference an effective way to meet and “scout” exceptional teacher-scholars. Miami University, with its timeless Georgian architecture and beautiful wooded areas, makes an attractive location for learning.

Conference Date: November 16-19, 2017
Where: Miami University
Cost: Early Bird = $475 by October 1st, $525 after October 1st (Does not include lodging or meals)

Next Conference Logo

The New Explorations in Teaching (NEXT) Conference is an annual gathering at The University of Akron to share new ideas and explore topics that affect teaching in higher education.

Create.  We are in the midst of a moment in higher education where faculty, instructional designers, administrators and students are able to create rich, engaging, content for our courses and campus. We can create physical objects out of spools of plastic through 3D-printing. We can develop online interactive, adaptive learning activities that engage students in novel and dynamic ways. We can author electronic texts that improve both affordability and accessibility. This year at NEXT, we want to focus on you, the creators, the innovators, the ones who are conducting the research, improving the scholarship of teaching, and elevating what’s possible in our classrooms. We invite you to share, to collaborate, to learn about all the new strategies, ideas, technologies, and research that you and your colleagues have been creating in the classroom.

A lite breakfast and full lunch is included with all tickets.
